The first post

Oh, how good it feels to be back at it. To be writing and reflecting and putting my thoughts into words on a page again. To be blogging.

Those of you who know me, or used to follow my old blog, know just how much my blog was a part of my life before the girls came along. There’s just something so cathartic and therapeutic and enjoyable in writing. I love it. But you know how it goes – babies and a full time job and life are a chaotic mix, and the time to sit and write and take beautiful pictures just wasn’t there like it was in my early 20’s. I always knew it would return…someday…

Well, here we are friends. Nearly 10 years down the road and in another season of motherhood – another season of life. I know there’s time available (albeit, still far less than before) to dedicate to this past time I’ve neglected, but love so very much.

So come on in and take your shoes off. Stay a while. I wholeheartedly welcome you to my new space on “the dot com” (as Noelle has proudly referred to the internet since Kindergarten). The Green Mountain Girl blog is a place I look forward to turning into a cozy, soul nurturing and joyful space. Like my own online version of a she-shed, complete with candles and scones and Louis Armstrong playing softly in the background.

I look forward to sharing my adventures in cooking, gardening, decorating and herbology. I’ll highlight my favorite recipes, local shops and businesses and twinkle light projects (because we all know those are endless).  I’ll share videos of decorating around our house (just be thankful I’ve already completed a recent wallpaper journey with my sister that wasn’t filmed. Aint nobody got time for the hardships that come with trying to line up a VERY busy wallpaper pattern…) I’ll take you on hikes, show you how I put my garden to sleep and introduce you to our chickens and cats.

I want this to be a home and scrap book of all the beautiful, delicious and grounding endeavors in this beautiful life I have here in the Green Mountain State. Come along for the adventure! Along the way I hope you learn something new, try something you haven’t before and leave each time feeling good.
